This site is designed to work without collecting personal data.

MOT checks

Registration numbers are sent over an encrypted connection to the DVSA MOT History API to fetch the vehicle's public test record. They are kept out of URLs and access logs and are never used for marketing or shared with anyone other than DVSA.

To protect the official service from duplicate requests, we may keep a sanitised result in server memory for up to six hours. The cached result contains no registration, vehicle identifier or MOT test number, disappears when the service restarts, and is never written to a lookup-history database.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which pages help people (page views, referrers, country). No cross-site tracking, no advertising identifiers, no sale of data.

Affiliate links

Links marked as sponsored may set a cookie on the destination retailer's site so they can attribute the referral. That happens on their domain, under their privacy policy.
